DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE
No 68/2016
of 29 April 2016
amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2017/2018]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/1554 of 11 September 2015 laying down rules for the application of Directive 2006/88/EC as regards requirements for surveillance and diagnostic methods (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/1554 repeals Commission Decisions 2001/183/EC (2), 2002/878/EC (3) and 2003/466/EC (4), which are incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which are consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement. |

(3) |
This Decision concerns legislation regarding veterinary matters. Legislation regarding veterinary matters shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein. |

Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
1. The following point is inserted after point 8a (Council Directive 2006/88/EC) in Part 3.1 of Chapter I of Annex I to the EEA Agreement:

32015 D 1554: Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/1554 of 11 September 2015 laying down rules for the application of Directive 2006/88/EC as regards requirements for surveillance and diagnostic methods (OJ L 247, 23.9.2015, p. 1).’ |
2. The texts of point 29 (Commission Decision 2003/466/EC) in Part 3.2 and points 63 (Commission Decision 2001/183/EC), 68 (Commission Decision 2002/878/EC) and 73 (Commission Decision 2003/466/EC) in Part 4.2 are deleted.
Article 2
The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/1554 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 30 April 2016, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
